Safeguarding Policy

Belle’s Bubbles Swim School is committed to providing an environment in which all children participating in its activities have a safe and positive experience.

The responsibility to safeguard children does not belong to any one person but everyone that is delivering our activities. In order to achieve this Belle’s Bubbles Swim School adopts and implements Wavepower, a document produced by Swim England that offers practical advice, mandatory requirements and good practice for anyone that is involved with these activities. The full document can be found on the Swim England Website.

Belle’s Bubbles Swim School agrees to:

  • Recognise that all children participating in activities at Belle’s Bubbles regardless of their age, gender, race, faith, sexual orientation and ability have the right to enjoy their involvement in our sports in a safe environment and be protected from harm.

  • Ensure that all individuals who work or volunteer with children at Belle’s Bubbles provide a positive, safe and enjoyable experience for children.

Rules to Keep Children Safe

No adult will be left alone with individual children, if this happens the member of staff will seek support from another member of staff or a reliable adult.

Parents should remain on poolside for the duration of their child’s lesson. At the end of a lesson if a child is left on poolside a member of staff will stay with them until they are collected.

Any unknown person that comes onto poolside must be identified and asked what child they are accompanying by the swimming teacher. If it is unsatisfactory, they will be asked to leave.

Photography and recording are not allowed during swimming lessons. Photography is not permitted in changing rooms or toilets. If a parent wants to record their own child, they must ask permission off the swimming teacher first so it can be carried out without safeguarding principles been compromised. Any photos taken by Belle’s Bubbles for marketing purposes will be done with written permission from the parent/guardian.

The Swim School are only responsible for children when they are in the water. They are not responsible when they are in the changing rooms, they are supervised by parents/guardians not the swim school staff.

The Swim School is not responsible for any siblings spectating a swimming lesson. They must stay with a parent/guardian at all times.
